Holy Apostle Soup Kitchen

LOCATION: New York, NY
PROJECT TYPE: Community
BUILD TYPE: Renovation
PROJECT SIZE: 15,000 SF
Founded in 1982, the mission of Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen (HASK) is to feed the hungry, comfort the afflicted, seek justice for people experiencing homelessness, and provide hope and opportunity within the community. HASK is the largest soup kitchen in New York and continues to address hunger and food insecurity across populations that are less likely to visit the Soup Kitchen program.
HASK offers services that nourish the body as well as the soul. In addition to meals and groceries, guests have access to social services and workshops that help them navigate toward improved health, housing, and jobs.
UPC was engaged in 2023 to support the renovation of their existing landmarked mission house building with upgrades to the kitchen, HVAC, offices, programming rooms, and accessibility improvements.
